We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. This role is essential for maintaining financial records and assisting in the preparation of reports that contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. The Accounting Assistant collaborates with the General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll staff at Hampton Behavioral Health  and Hampton Academy to perform general functions in accordance with current accepted accounting principles.  Duties to include are help with month end closing, general ledger reconciliation, preparation and posting of daily cash receipts and special projects as assigned. Accounting duties may include:

• Tuition Billing & Collections
• Vendor Payments & Invoice Coding
• Cash Receipts Posting
• Petty Cash Reconciliation
• Audit Assistance
• Assist Payroll Coordinator

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.
• Minimum One (1) year of Accounting and/or Business Office experience required.
• Billing Eduction experience preferred.
