Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Maintenance Electrician / Controls Technician to join our team and support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and system integration of complex industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in PLCs, automation, and electrical systems in an industrial setting—and must hold a valid Washington State Electrical License .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant and production equipment.
  • Program and modify PLCs, HMIs, and drives; support automation systems.
  • Calibrate and maintain process measurement and control systems.
  • Design, install, and expand control panels and loops.
  • Commission new systems and integrate them into existing operations.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and records.
  • Generate and manage calibration documentation.
  • Collaborate across departments and communicate technical issues clearly.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components (e.g., sensors, relays, controllers).
  • Work out details to install and wire electrical systems with large number of connections, including conduit and power distribution. Make the necessary tests as required.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, Washington electrical codes, and UL requirements.
  • Build and maintain PLC controllers and related components.
  • Participate in equipment QA inspections and safety compliance.
  • Assist in training and mentoring technicians on electrical systems and safety.
  • Handle high-voltage systems (120/240V single-phase and 220/480V three-phase).
  • Support general maintenance and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State (WA) Electrical License – REQUIRED
  • Proven experience as an electrician or controls technician in an industrial setting.
  • Deep knowledge of industrial automation systems, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), and HMIs.
  • Proficient in reading and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with calibration procedures and documentation.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of NEC and Washington-specific code requirements.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Electricity, Mechatronics, or similar.
  • OSHA safety training or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with UL-compliant rewiring and system modifications.
